Version 1.9.3
Coming soon
Grade Check shows every possible match, COMPS opens TCGplayer too, and offline downloads pick up right where they left off.
Grade Check and comps
- Grade Check shows every possible match. Tap one to see its grading odds and prices.
- TCGplayer comps: tap COMPS to open the card's TCGplayer page, filtered to its condition and language. eBay sold listings are still one tap away.
Your collection
- Import your collection from the TCGplayer app, Collectr or any spreadsheet, or share a file straight into ShadowSnap.
- Your Vault keeps its full history, not just the last 90 days.
Labels and offline
- Label Studio lets you hide the card number and set code for a cleaner sticker, and the preview shows your printer's real label size.
- Offline downloads pick up right where they left off, even after you close the app.
- Plus smoother printing and lots of small improvements.
Version 1.9.2

Latest
Circle the cards in any photo and scan them all at once. Plus faster scans, smarter stamps, an offline reader that keeps itself current, and quicker events and Print Desk.
Circle your cards
- Pick a photo and draw a loop around each card. ShadowSnap snaps each loop to the card's edges and scans every card you circled from that one photo.
- Cards lying sideways come out the right way up.
Faster everywhere
- Your photo reaches the scanner the moment you tap, and the first scan after a pause is quick too.
- Close-out taps are instant however many shows you've done, and the app opens faster with a long show history.
- The Print Desk opens fast after a scan, marking many cards as already labeled is instant, and Label Studio and "From my Vault" keep up with big collections.
Smarter stamps and printings
- More stamped printings are recognized and suggested for you to confirm, including League, EB Games, Toys R Us and World Championships stamps.
- Offline, ShadowSnap asks which version you have whenever a wrong pick could be $5 or more off.
- Pick another card and its price range shows right away.
Offline, always current
- The offline card reader updates itself on Wi-Fi when a new version is out. You can turn this off in Offline → Preferences.
Version 1.9
September 2026
Grade Check compares every version of a card, and the app stays steady through long show days.
Grade Check, every version
- Switch between versions of the same card (holo, reverse holo, 1st Edition, stamped) and see how each one grades, with its own price.
Steadier at the show
- Fast tapping and big collections use far less memory, so the app stays quick and steady on long show days.
Version 1.8
September 2026
See what a show really made you. Put in what you paid, trades included, and your event shows real profit. Plus big collections that open in a blink.
Real profit for every show
- Profit, not guesswork: your event page shows what you took in minus what the sold cards cost you. When some costs are estimates, it says so with a small "est.", and the Worth line still shows your cash plus cards.
- What did you pay? After a pickup, type the amount or slide to a percent of market, just like offers.
- Trades: pick the cards you gave, add cash either way, even add something that isn't a card (a plushie, a binder) by name and value. ShadowSnap works out what the new card cost you.
- Older stock with no cost? Count it at a percent of market with one slider. It never changes a price you typed, stays with each card for your next show, and you can fix any single card later from its PAID line in the Vault.
Faster
- Big collections open in a blink: the Vault, Insights and large stacks are much faster, and swiping back is smooth.
- COMPS opens fast even on bad show Wi-Fi, and Japanese cards now search eBay the way sellers list them.
Also
- Pick Light or Dark right in the welcome tour.
- Clearer messages when grading data can't load, with a Try again button, and clearer instructions after a binder photo.
- Crash and freeze reports, only with Help improve ShadowSnap switched on, help us fix problems faster.
Version 1.7
September 2026
A shorter welcome tour, fewer taps, a quieter camera screen, and a Vault that can never go missing.
Simpler
- A fresh welcome tour in four short cards, starring Offline mode: no signal? Keep scanning.
- Fewer taps: faster scans, fewer taps to pick a card's printing, and KEEP ALL, price refresh and DONE buttons right where you'd expect them.
- A cleaner camera screen: no status chatter, just a short note when something needs you.
Safer
- An update can never make your Vault or stacks go missing. A card the app can't read is set aside on your phone, and you're told.
- A heads-up when your phone's storage is full, so no scan is lost without you knowing.
- Spreadsheet imports with a broken price cell bring the card in without a price instead of failing.
Smarter prices
- Cards with few recent sales are flagged, even offline, and glitchy price spikes are caught before they reach you.
- Japanese cards waiting for review settle on their own more often.
Also
- Dark mode stays on after the tour, and VoiceOver can take a photo of a card.
Version 1.6
September 2026
Offline mode gets smarter: 1st Edition stamps and condition prices with no signal. Plus a Vault that's kept safe, honest prices for slow sellers, steadier label printing and better battery life.
Smarter offline
- Printings offline: ShadowSnap reads 1st Edition stamps and stamp words on older cards and picks that printing for you. When it can't tell and a pricier version might be in your hand, it asks which one you have.
- Condition prices offline: Near Mint to Damaged, with no signal.
- Sturdier downloads: they retry by themselves after a hiccup, never sit at 0% after an update, and say what went wrong. A new offline update keeps the old one working until it's ready, and turning Offline on no longer stops your daily price updates.
- More memory room for the offline recognizer, so the app stays open on long offline days.
A safer Vault
- If your Vault ever can't be opened after an update, ShadowSnap keeps it exactly as it was instead of starting over empty, and tells you.
- Removing a card from the Vault, or cancelling a Vault scan, asks first. Cards stuck on "will send" after a Wi-Fi hiccup send by themselves once you're back online.
Honest prices for slow sellers
- When a card's TCGplayer price has stopped moving, ShadowSnap prices it from recent eBay sales and says Few recent sales, so you know to check comps. Conditions without enough sales say Not enough sales with a Check eBay button instead of a guessed price.
Label printing
- Resume picks up right where you paused, cancelling a Nelko print is smooth, a batch finishes after the app closes, and a jammed or open printer stops the batch and says so.
- The NIIMBOT test print uses your darkness setting and the real label layout.
Faster and cooler
- The app opens faster, card review swipes smoothly, big buys no longer run the phone out of memory, and the camera rests when you've been on another screen for a while.
- Less mobile data: on cellular, a hotspot or Low Data Mode, extra archive photos wait until you're back on Wi-Fi. Scanning works exactly the same.
Version 1.5.1
September 2026
A quick polish on 1.5: big events stay fast, the daily offline update gets going straight away, and sealed prices hold steady.
Faster, smoother
- Faster events: events with hundreds of items open straight away, and the filter chips and search keep up with your typing.
- Smoother offline updates: the daily price update no longer sits at 0% before it starts, even with the Full photo download on your phone.
- Easier cash entry: tap Done, or anywhere else, to put the keypad away when you type starting or ending cash.
- Steadier sealed prices: a box's price no longer drops on a few odd sales overnight, and sealed products with no recent sales show TCGplayer's listed median.
- Print labels on an event now shows a printer icon.
Version 1.5
September 2026
Events for card shows: pack your inventory and cash before the show, lock it in, and count up after. Plus a tidier Vault, offline downloads straight from Apple, and a TCGplayer export that works.
Events for card shows
- Before: pick what you're bringing from your Vault, search for it, or scan it, and note your starting cash. Then lock it in.
- After: tick what came home, mark what sold, enter your ending cash and finish. ShadowSnap shows what you started and ended with, in cards and in cash, and keeps your Vault up to date.
A tidier Vault
- Insights (growth, fast movers, sleepers, flips and history) and the settings gear now sit at the top right. Import and Export live in the gear.
- TCGplayer export fixed: the file carries TCGplayer's own product ids, so it imports cleanly. Pokémon cards only.
Offline, smoother
- Offline downloads now come straight from Apple. Pick Lite (card recognition and today's prices) or Full (adds card photos). Stop and resume any time; your photos stay until you delete them.
Also
- Stacks and Events have their own tabs; swipe left to delete. Round feed tools, and the feed sheet rests lower so the camera shows more. Scans read only the card inside the brackets.
- Print Desk labels show the printing you picked; clearer status and lighter prints on the Nelko P21.
Version 1.4
September 2026
Your phone now knows the cards. One download and ShadowSnap recognises English and Japanese Pokémon singles on the phone itself: faster scans, sharper matches, and it keeps working when the show has no signal.
Teach your phone the cards
- One download (Settings → Pokémon Offline, or the offer on the camera screen) puts the recognizer and today's prices on your phone. Wi-Fi only unless you say otherwise.
- Faster online scans: the phone answers before the upload finishes; our server double-checks every card.
- No signal? Keep scanning. A green OFFLINE tag means the phone is certain, REVIEW means take a look, and everything is re-checked the moment you're back online.
Comps in one tap
- A yellow COMPS button beside every price opens eBay's sold listings for that card, printing and condition, newest first. Real sales, not asking prices. No eBay app? The same search opens in Safari.
Type it in
- Scanner missed? Search the catalog by name or number and pick the card you meant. Works offline against your downloaded cards too.
Calmer, faster, fixed
- A quieter feed: bigger card previews, fewer chips, a cleaner typeface, and Settings as a full page.
- Grade Check closes with a swipe down; offline cards show their catalog picture; Add Photo no longer chops a single card into scraps.
- The daily price refresh runs in the background, so the first open of the day no longer freezes on big collections. More reliable downloads, Vault photo, pricing and import fixes.
- Product reporting (which cards and sets people scan; never photos or contact details) is on by default with an off switch in Settings → Product Analytics. Details in our privacy policy.
Version 1.0
August 2026
The first App Store release: a scanner, a price guide, a liquidity read, an offer builder, and a collection tracker in one camera view. Free, with no account and no scan limits.
Scanning
- Instant identification: point the camera and the card, set, number, finish, condition, and market value are on screen before the card leaves your hand.
- Match-confidence badge on every result, and a one-tap correction when a match is wrong.
- Binder-page capture: shoot a whole page at once and let it identify every card.
- English cards plus more than 25,000 Japanese and Chinese cards.
- Offline queue: snaps taken with no signal are kept and retried automatically once you're back online.
Liquidity & offers
- Liquidity droplets: a one-to-five droplet read of how fast every card actually sells, measured from real market activity. No other scanner has this.
- Stack offers: scan cards into a stack, get a suggested buy percentage informed by sell speed, and slide it where you want it.
- Show Customer: a clean full-screen offer you hand across the table, every card and its value listed.
The Vault
- One Vault for everything: singles, graded slabs (PSA, BGS, CGC with grade and grader), sealed product, quantities, and named collections.
- Repriced daily, with price history and what you paid on every card.
- Grading math: compare raw value against potential graded value using population and gem-rate data, minus fees.
Import & export
- CSV in and out, compatible with Collectr, TCGplayer and other scanning apps, plus a full-detail ShadowSnap format that re-imports perfectly.
- Send to ShadowTag: a scanned stack or the whole Vault lands in the label printer app ready to print.
- Unlocks with a free access code: DM @splashandshadowstudio on Instagram for yours. No account, ever.
